Hello, I’m Chiara
I’m a project manager, a parent, and an expat based in Rome, Italy.
A few years back, I moved here with my family. What began as a short-term assignment gradually became a new chapter of life abroad.
How It Started
Moving to Italy wasn't in our long-range plan. As with many international relocations, it began as a job opportunity and soon grew into something far bigger.
The initial months were demanding — new systems, new routines, new expectations. Everyday tasks seemed more challenging than expected.
The Adjustment Period
There was culture shock, uncertainty, and a lot of learning by doing. But gradually, routines took shape. We found places that fit us, connected with other families, and started building something that felt secure.
Why I Built Sea Echo Mirror
Most online information was either corporate relocation guidance or surface tourism content. What was missing was honest, everyday family viewpoint.
This site exists to bridge that gap — practical advice drawn from real life in Italy.
What This Site Is (And Isn't)
This site is:
- Hands-on experience from living in Italy
- Centered on family life and daily realities
- Updated when something truly changes
This site isn't:
- An official tourism authority resource
- A paid-review platform
- An ordinary travel blog
Looking Ahead
Our stay in Italy goes on, and so does the learning journey. As long as the information remains useful, I’ll continue recording what we find.
If you have questions about family life in Rome or anywhere in Italy, please feel free to get in touch.
Cheers,
Chiara
